#3 Finding a Balance
Do you often get asked, “How do you find the right work life balance?” Whether you are a small business owner, or a busy working Mum, getting the right balance can be the difference between achieving business success or not.
Here is a set of 10 tips to help you achieve a work/life balance so you really can start to have it all!
Develop your multi tasking skills. Listen to a tele seminar or podcast when you’re checking your emails. Go for a walk and catch up on phone calls.
Work out what is important to you. Focus on those priorities and you will find it easier to choose the right decisions that matter to you.
Stop being a workaholic and make time for all your relationships – personal and professional. Make time to be playful. Reassess what defines your work/life ethic and become more creative.
Do you feel stressed? Have a good balance on the outside with some negative experiences in your mind? Consider meditation to reflect on life and gain clarity.
Think about other people. Think about how you can help them. Balance how you consider your own and other’s individual needs.
Take time out to “think”. Get your creative thoughts down – even the random ones, away from the hustle and bustle. The end result – a refreshed you with perhaps some great new ideas to take forward.
Constantly rushing to fit all your work in? Stop and enjoy the moment. Slow down and take in the view.
Learn to say “No” so you don’t overburden yourself. Ask for help rather than doing it all yourself!
What excites you and what bores you? Write down your high and low moments, but make sure you have more high ones. Sort out who you are, manage your own expectations and be a unique person.
Can your emails wait? Make sure you always do whatever it is that benefits your business most first.
